Our memories soar as we mark the day

Our sweet friend Paula went Home to stay

A mere year ago seems such a small window

It’s been too long since we’ve heard a “Hi There” or “Love ya Kiddo”

We all wear pink today to mark your spirit

A life full of spunk, love, and vigor

Chocolate is still a staple and always on hand

We’re betting Jesus has some that is far more grand

While we know you are joyful and heaven is brighter

Days like today we feel our Lord hug us tighter

So until we meet on those streets of gold

We’ll wear our pink with attitude, big and bold

Lord, thank you for memories and a friend we all love

Tell her we love her and give her a great big hug!

It happened!

It happened! The moment we were waiting for, the return of evening Bible studies! Oh, what a great time we had as we studied God's Word together.   I hope things are going well with everyone and that you have had time to complete the 5 sessions for this week. If you have not, don’t worry, we will not be checking homework  and do not want that to hinder anyone  from coming tomorrow evening. Remember, our time together is a stress-free zone! We will watch the video for session two and then break off into small groups to discuss the 5 sessions from this week, as well as the video. 

If anyone wants to come to the church early tomorrow night for some good old fellowship, just get in your car and come to the church at 6:30!

Totally Tuesday is almost upon us! We are getting ready to launch our Tuesday evening Bible Studies!!

Join us us as we journey together to study God's Word.  Our study materialls will be Priscilla Shirer's Jonah: Navigating a  Life Interrupted. Our first session will be Tuesday evening, September 20th at 7:00 p.m., Northwoods Baptist Church in the Multi Purpose Room. Please bring your Bible and a friend!!

What a blessing it will be to watch God’s hand unfold as He shows us that when we experience an interruption in our life, it is actually God’s invitation to do something beyond our wildest dreams!  When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the end result was revival in an entire city. Are we ready? Hopefully so, because God wants us to join Him where He is already working. Counting the moments until we gather together………………………………..

We all have a testimony. . .

This video of various testimonies is well worth the time it takes to watch, I promise. Warning, you may wish need to keep a tissue on hand. God's grace, mercy, and unconditional love reflected in the lives of His children in the video may bring tears to your eyes. After watching it twice, I believe I would need a tissue each time.

Remember, whatever you are going through, He cares for you!
1 Peter 5:7 - The Message - " Casting the whole of your care (all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all) on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

Back to School Ministry Opportunity

 

"It's All About the Kids"

A one stop ministry to ensure children have the resources necessary for a successful school year will be held Saturday, August 6th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Northwoods Baptist Church. We are striving to supply backpacks, lunch boxes, school supplies, haircuts, manicures, hair accessories, gift certificates/cards, and basic clothing needs for several children in our community. There will also be music, bouncy/jumping houses, food, and lots of Christian love and fellowship. Many volunteers are needed for the day of the event as well. If you can volunteer and/or donate items, please contact Michelle Schaub at 576-8383 or 274-8093.

Totally Tuesday = evening Bible studies for women who desire a safe environment to share life experiences, connect with other women, and grow spiritually. I Am New!

I love music! Just about every kind of music but my favorite is Contemporary Christian. One of my very favorite songs is "I Am New" by Jason Gray. Here are a couple lyrics:

Forgiven beloved
Hidden in Christ
Made in the image of the Giver of Life
Righteous and holy
Reborn and remade
Accepted and worthy this is our new name

We are all new creations from the moment we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour. But do you realize that you are a new creation every morning? Lametations 3:22-23 says "Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
We can do away with the old each day and wake up anew in the Presence of Christ. His compassion for us is unfailing! I don't know about you but I am a work in progress and need God's mercy every minute of the day. So give all the stuff from yesterday, this morning, an hour ago or even 5 minutes ago to Christ and let Him give you new mercies at this very moment!
He is wild about you!
